So I managed to make it in to the last open life drawing session this week, which was advertised as a costume pose featuring a model named Melinda. Little did I know this was the Melinda who was my classmate in Art Anatomy last semester! I was told there would be green hair, but alas, her hair was her normal color. Not that it matters when you’re working in grayscale charcoal. But the mohawk and guitar were present and accounted for! And she was actually there after I was, which was late, but I actually got some quick 5-minute gesture drawings done first, a rarity for me. (They aren’t pictured, as gestures are really just quick-drawing exercises and I doubt anyone would want to see them.)
So in any case, here’s Melinda in her full punk regalia. This was a lot of fun to draw, hopefully I will get the chance to do more costume poses in the future.
